One of the core values at Arden Presbyterian Church is our commitment to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus tells his disciples, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." These last instructions from Jesus to his disciples are a command to proclaim the name of Jesus to every corner of this planet. From a human perspective, accomplishing this task seems impossible. But we must remember that we serve a great God who is himself committed to accomplishing his purposes and who delights to use his people as his instruments.
The Missions Committee at Arden is responsible for the review and oversight of Arden's mission efforts, working with our missionaries, and facilitating missions trips, both local and international. We currently support more than 30 missionary units.
Faith Promise Giving
The support of individual missionaries is through Faith Promise giving. These funds are offerings over and above the regular tithe and offerings. While these gifts can be given at anytime during the year, our members make pledges at the conclusion of our annual Missions Festival. It is on the basis of these pledges that our missions committee sets the budget for our missions support. Our 2018 Missions Festival is scheduled for February 21-25.
What You Can Do
We're committed to every member involvement by the motto, GO-PRAY-SEND
- GO: You can go on one of our local mission trips or on one of our international mission trips.
- PRAY: Please pray for our missionaries weekly. We assist you in this by providing up-to-date information on how to pray for our missionaries in the "Missions Moment" section of the bulletin each Sunday.
- SEND: Be prayerful about your finances being used to support and send out new missionaries.

MTW Medical Mission Trip To Gonaives, Haiti May 25-June 1, 2019 (Non-Medical and Medical Participants Needed)
A MTW medical mission trip to Gonaives, Haiti is planned for May 25-June 1, 2019 (Saturday to Saturday) to work with MTW missionary Rev. Esaie Etienne in his 3 church plants in the Gonaives, Haiti area (approximately 75 miles north of Port-au-Prince). Both medical and especially non-medical participants are needed for this team. Physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and paramedicals are needed for work with the adults and children seen in the 5 mobile medical clinics. There is a special need for non-medical participants to be involved in triage/obtaining information for medical records, non-verbal Gospel presentations, distribution of Four Spiritual Laws in Haitian Creole & French pamphlets, Gospel bracelets distribution, music, female chaperones, assisting with pharmacy duties, courier, photographer, fitting of reading glasses, assisting patients’ movements to different areas in the mobile clinics, assisting pastors as needed, and a general willingness to serve where needed.
Rev. Etienne has said that medical clinics are the main request he has for assisting his work in the Gonaives church plants he has established. Trinity Church is the main church, and the housing for the team is located adjacent to it. The other 3 mobile medical clinics will be at Docine Christian School & church plant where approximately 420 students attend Grades 1-10 and at Truth Church (the church that Arden Presbyterian contributed $15,000 at the 2017 APC Missions Conference to enable the church building to be completed).
All meals will be provided in the building adjacent to Trinity Church except packed lunches will be taken on the 3 mobile clinics away from Trinity Church. There are rooms where a maximum of 24 participants could have beds with air conditioning, showers (no hot water, but solar heating provides lukewarm water), and Western style toilets within a wall protected area. Gonaives is a relatively safe area of Haiti, and it is a much more family friendly area in comparison to Port-au-Prince.
The total cost is in the $1700-$1900 range including flights and ground expenses. Participants need to be 17 y.o. or older, and 16 y.o. participants are allowed when accompanied by a parent. Partial scholarships are available depending on funding, and those interested will need to make application to the Arden Presbyterian Missions Committee.
Anyone interested in going as either medical or non-medical participants should apply no later than early April 2019.
